Xtreme: Hi Chanel, it’s great to meet you.
Chanel: You too, Maya! Thank you so much for interviewing me. I’m really excited!
Xtreme: Great! We love finding new talent around here, and “new” would definitely describe you, wouldn’t it?
Chanel: Yes! I just started in the business at the end of January, actually.
Xtreme: Wow! What was your motivation behind doing that?
Chanel: Well, I’d been dancing for probably about a year and a half. I’d been a traveling dancer and I met somebody who asked me if I’d be interested in it, and I said, “Well, not really,” but when I went home, I realized that I hadn’t actually thought that I would never do it, I’d just never really, really thought about it, and then I was like, “You know, I think I’d actually like to do that.” So I took some more time to make sure that I wasn’t making a bad choice and I decided to do it.
Xtreme: This is a pretty big departure from your upbringing in Alaska.
Chanel: Oh, yeah. I was born and raised there.
Xtreme: And now you live in Hawaii, yes?
Chanel: Yes, five years ago I moved to Hawaii and I’ve been here ever since. I know, it’s kind of random.
Xtreme: So how does that work for you? Do you just sporadically travel to Los Angeles every so often or what?
Chanel: Lately I’ve been coming out every three or four weeks, just because I’ve been wanting to keep things going because I’m so new. Once I’ve been in the industry for a while, I’m hoping [to not have to] come out so often.
Xtreme: You’re hoping to never actually have to move to L.A.?
Chanel: I don’t really want to. I can’t say never, but as of now I don’t want to. I like Hawaii, so…
Xtreme: Who can blame you!? So in the past eleven months or so, do you know how many scenes you’ve shot?
Chanel: I’ve shot, um, maybe twenty-five? Not a whole lot, but that wasn’t my plan anyway, to shoot every day. I’m pretty choosy about who I shoot with. I’m being a little more selective so there’s not a ton of content out there for free and then I have to ask, “Why am I not making money?”
Xtreme: Tell me about your first scene. Were you nervous?
Chanel: I was nervous beforehand, but I knew that once I started doing it that I’d be okay because that’s how it went when I started dancing. When I got on stage, the nervousness went away, and that’s how it was with the porn. I don’t want to say that it was natural [laughs], but it was really easy and I was really comfortable with it.
Xtreme: Would you consider yourself to be a natural exhibitionist? Had you always gotten off on people watching you be sexual or is this a turn of events that surprises you about yourself?
Chanel: Um, it’s not that I’m an exhibitionist. I just enjoy performing, whether it’s dancing, or acting, or doing these movies, I just like to perform. So it’s not necessarily that I like to be videotaped, I just like performing.
Xtreme: Have you had to fake an orgasm on camera?
Chanel: Yes. Numerous times!
Xtreme: More often than not?
Chanel: Yeah. I mean, a lot of times you’re in positions that aren’t really favorable to having orgasms, because the camera has to be able to see everything, so it’s not always possible. Maybe for some women it is, but for the majority I think it’s not.
Xtreme: Do you fuck both men and women on camera?
Chanel: I do.

Chanel: Well, probably not, but you never know! Maybe I’ll feel spontaneous one night.

Chanel: It actually comes in spurts, so for like a week I will, like, all the time, then the next week I won’t do it at all, then the next week I will all the time again. That’s my routine.

Chanel: Yes, yes I was, and yes, we had to fuck like that. It was the weirdest thing I’ve ever done.
Xtreme: Did you have the tails?
Chanel: We were completely decked out. They gave us the prosthetic noses, the contacts, the wigs, I mean, we looked exactly like them. It was really uncomfortable, but we looked amazing
Xtreme: Do you like the acting side of things?
Chanel: I do like it, but I like doing gonzo too. They’re quick – you’re in and out in 4 hours. I wouldn’t want to do one all the time, really. I try to mix it up a bit.
Xtreme: Would you be interested in being under contract someday, or do you like being freelance?
Chanel: I actually like being independent. When I first got into the industry, [being under contract] is initially what appealed to me, but now that I’m more familiar with the business I like being on my own because I can work with everybody and anybody and I have all kinds of options, so I’m not necessarily interested in contracting.
Xtreme: I have one last question for you, and I hope it’s not a touchy subject: I was reading an old AVN interview in which you said that your family was aware of your dancing but not of your movies. Do they know yet?
Chanel: They do know, because I got a call from my publicist when I was visiting family in Fairbanks, Alaska saying, like, “A radio station there really wants you to be on a show!” so I was like, “Oh my God, I can’t say no,” because I had wanted them to find out eventually anyway, so it was like, “Oh man, now I have to tell them,” and a few days beforehand I sat them down and told them. It was actually funny how my mom reacted because she kind of approved, like in a funny way! I love to tease her because she’s such a prude about it, like, “Oh, that’s so disgusting!” [laughs] I still have a good relationship with them. I mean, obviously they’d prefer for me to do something different, but they’re like, “It’s your life,” so it’s good.
